How to practice Read Aloud in Lume Test?

Follow these steps to practice effectively.

1. Start to practice

Click the Start to practice button to start practicing Read Aloud.

2. Click to record

Click the Click to record button during the AudioDelay countdown. When the countdown ends, recording will automatically start.

3. Try again

If you are not satisfied with your attempt, you can practice again by clicking the Try again button.

4. Click to score

Click the Click to score button to have the system evaluate your performance.

Where to view your scores?

You can view the date and time of each practice session, along with the frequency of practice and the score achieved. Simply click the eye 👁️ icon to see detailed score report.

What do score details include?

Let’s explore what is included in the detailed score report.

1. Overall

You can listen to your response again by clicking the Replay button.

2. Content

The Content section evaluates how accurately your response matches the text.

  • Red highlights indicate missing words.

  • Yellow highlights show insertions or extra words.

  • Words that match correctly remain unmarked.

Use this feedback to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, you can listen to the Sample Audio provided to improve your pronunciation and pacing.

3. Pronunciation

The Pronunciation section provides feedback on how well you pronounced each word in the text.

  • Green highlights indicate correctly pronounced words.

  • Yellow highlights indicate mispronounced words.

  • Red highlights indicate missing words.

You can click on individual words to hear their correct pronunciation and phonetic transcription. Use the Improve Your Pronunciation section to focus on words that need improvement, replay their correct pronunciation, and practice speaking them.

4. Fluency

The Fluency section evaluates how smoothly and naturally you deliver your speech.

Speaking Speed Analysis:

  • Displays the number of words you spoke per minute.

  • Compares your speed to the ideal range.

Interactive Features:

  • Provides a simplified text version for you to practice reading aloud.

  • Encourages focusing on consistent speaking speed while improving pronunciation accuracy.
