How to practice Speak about the Photo in Lume Test?

Follow these steps to practice effectively.

1. Start to practice

Click the Start to practice button to start practicing Speak about the Photo.

2. Click to record

You will have 20 seconds to view the image and 90 seconds to speak into the microphone.
When you're prepared to begin recording, select the Click to record button. Remember that you'll be working within a time constraint, so it's essential to carefully manage your recording session to ensure you capture your complete response.

3. Try again

If you are not satisfied with your attempt, you can practice again by clicking the Try again button.

4. Submit

Click the Submit button to have the system evaluate your performance.

Addressed task: evaluates if the question is fully answered and relevant.
Logical order: ensures ideas are presented in a clear, logical sequence.
Paragraph progression: ensures smooth transitions between ideas.
Feedback: here you can view feedback that explains the strengths and areas for improvement based on your answer.

Here, you will see the system distinguishing between different types of words based on:

Green highlights indicate keywords.
Blue highlights indicate linking words.
Yellow highlights indicate filler words.

Use this feedback to identify areas for improvement.

3. Grammar Usage

The Grammar Usage refers to your ability to use a variety of grammatical structures correctly and appropriately to convey ideas clearly and effectively.

Grammatical accuracy:

Red highlights indicate spelling errors, identifying the mistakes made and proposing correct alternatives.
Yellow highlights indicate grammar errors in your response, providing suggestions for improvement.

Grammatical complexity:

Shows the range and sophistication of your grammar
Demonstrates the ability to use a variety of structures effectively.

4. Lexical Range

The Lexical Range refers to the level of vocabulary used, including both lexical sophistication and the variety of word choices (lexical diversity), to express ideas clearly and effectively.

5. Fluency & Acoustic Features

The Fluency & Acoustic Features assessment measures your verbal and written productivity within time constraints while evaluating the quality of your pronunciation and speech rhythm.

Acoustic Features:

Clarity: measures how clearly ideas are expressed.
Filler words: evaluates the use of unnecessary words like "um," "uh," or "like," which can disrupt speech flow and clarity. Minimal use reflects fluency and confidence.
Feedback: here you can view feedback that explains the strengths and areas for improvement based on your answer.

Speaking speed analysis:

Displays the number of words you spoke per minute.
Compares your speed to the ideal range.
